喀尔苏塔克拉玛干沙漠

喀尔苏塔克拉玛干沙漠是国家A级景区，新疆莎车喀尔苏塔克拉玛干旅游风景区位于莎车县东部28公里处，归喀尔苏乡所辖，东接塔克拉玛干沙漠，与叶城县、麦盖提县交界，南与叶城县的江格勒斯乡相邻，西与依盖尔其镇交界，北与巴格阿瓦提乡接壤，东西长67公里，南北宽40公里，总面积508.3公里。

莎车王陵墓

莎车王陵墓是王陵墓占地1050平方米，虽历经数百年，其壁饰图案、建筑用料及结构布局，仍清晰如新。当地政府和群众，又专门为阿曼尼萨汗王妃另外修建了陵墓，其高大、精美，均超出了原王陵。它位于县城中汉城、回城之间，至今瞻仰者不绝于途。

莎车阿热勒乡巴依都瓦村祈富台

莎车阿热勒乡巴依都瓦村祈富台是国家A级景区，自治区级保护文物，当地人称巴依都瓦衣，位于阿热勒乡巴依都瓦村，距县城中心4公里，公元前65年为西汉莎车王万年所建，高12丈（合40米），占地24亩，上有亭台、牌楼。清乾隆年间重修一次，牌坊-“共尊汉室，同拒匈奴”。相传西汉卫候冯奉世在平定莎车王及匈奴童仆都尉勾结发动的叛乱之后，与龟兹、温宿、姑墨、于阗、皮山诸国践盟于此地，故又称践盟台。当时莎车王老死无后，皇帝乾隆，要求派解忧公主的儿子万年到莎车来做王，征得乾隆皇帝的同意后万年到了莎车做王，因思念父母和希望叶尔羌汗国人民能够富裕，所以在巴依都瓦村修建了此祈富台，祈祷叶尔羌汗人民富裕、家人平安。

莎车亚克艾日克乡哈尔加什炮台

莎车亚克艾日克乡哈尔加什炮台是国家A级景区，位于县城西南35公里处。炮台于清光绪三年（1877）清军为追击阿古柏侵略者而修建的，是清兵大战阿古柏的历史见证，也是古驿站的嘹望塔，现今遗址保存完好。亚克艾日克阔如勒（烽火台）位于亚克艾日克乡阔如勒村35公里处的山顶上，离敲提也炮台24.5公里的地方有一座高七米，宽五米的土块修建的碉堡。据当地人流传，这个碉堡在这个地方已有500多年的历史了，碉堡座落在亚克艾日克乡东部，1945年以前一直有士兵看守，这是通往巴基斯坦和阿富汗斯坦的交通要道，古丝绸之路关口，山路也从这里开始通往县城。

因众多女性遇害且凶手逍遥法外而得名“鬼城”的墨西哥北部边城华雷斯，

华雷斯最近10多年间有300多名女性遇害后暴尸城外沙漠，而凶手大多逍遥法外， 根据墨西哥政府官方的粗略统计，与美国得克萨斯州埃尔帕索相邻的华雷斯市自1993年以来有300多名女性遇害。在这些案件中，至少有100起都有如下共同点：受害者是身材苗条的年轻女性，死前遭到过性侵害，有被勒死的痕迹，尸体被抛弃在华雷斯城外的沙漠中。这些案件大多至今仍是无头迷案。

Iguazu Falls

============

Iguazu Falls (Iguassu Falls) are waterfalls of the Iguazu River located on the border of the Brazilian state of Paraná and the Argentine province of Misiones.

The waterfall system consists of about 270 falls along 2.7 kilometers (1.67 miles) of the Iguazu River. Some of the individual falls are up to 82 meters (269 feet) in height, though the majority are about 64 meters (210 feet). The Garganta del Diablo or Devil's Throat (Garganta do Diabo in Portuguese), a U-shaped 150-metre-wide and 700-metre-long (490 by 2300 feet) cliff, is the most impressive of all, and marks the border between Argentina and Brazil. Most of the falls are within Argentine territory, but from the Brazilian side a more panoramic view of the Garganta del Diablo is obtained. Many islands split up the falls, including several large ones. About 900 meters of the 2.7-kilometre length does not have water flowing over it. The first European to find the falls was the Spanish Conquistador Álvar Núñez Cabeza de Vaca, after whom one of the falls in the Argentine side is named.

The falls are shared by the Iguazú National Park (Argentina) and Iguaçu National Park (Brazil). These parks were designated UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1984 and 1986, respectively.

The name Iguazu comes from the Guarani or Tupi words y (water) and guasú (big). Legend has it that a god planned to marry a beautiful aborigine named Naipí, who fled with her mortal lover Tarobá in a canoe. In rage, the god sliced the river creating the waterfalls, condemning the lovers to an eternal fall.

There are two main towns on either side of the falls: Foz do Iguaçu in the Brazilian state of Paraná, and Puerto Iguazú in the Argentine province of Misiones. Other important tourist attractions near the falls include the Itaipu hydroelectric power plant, and the Jesuit Missions of the Guaranis in Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil.
